We’re looking for an experienced and results-driven Head of Purchasing with strong leadership skills to join our dynamic team at NA-KD.
Head of Purchasing
As Head of Purchasing, you’ll maintain a helicopter view across all teams’ assortments, securing a profitable and brand-aligned offering. You’ll own the overall purchasing budget, drive strategic assortment decisions, and ensure financial targets are met. With a focus on innovation, fashion, profitability and sustainability, you will guide the team forward and continuously raise the bar.
In this role, you’ll lead the purchasing team while ensuring alignment with broader company goals, working closely with the CPO for strategic direction and support. You’ll take a hands-on approach to drive initiatives that connect team efforts to overall business objectives.
Collaboration is central to this role’s success. You’ll work closely with the Heads of Category, who report directly to you, ensuring alignment and strong execution across all product areas. You’ll also work closely with the Purchase Business Controlling Manager, Head of Design, and Head of Sustainability & Sourcing to drive decisions across the full purchasing function.
Reports to: Chief Purchasing Officer (CPO)
Your Future
- Lead a team of Heads of Categories and their respective teams. Supporting their growth while being accountable for strategic alignment and execution across all product areas.
- Own and drive the overall purchasing budget, ensuring assortment decisions support profitability, fashion relevance, and brand identity.
- In collaboration with stakeholders, develop and implement buying strategies that balance creativity, cost-efficiency, sustainability and sourcing opportunities.
- Achieve budget targets and key performance indicators (KPIs), contributing to the company’s overarching goals.
- Maintain a helicopter view of all teams’ assortments, ensuring a well-balanced, differentiated, and profitable offering across the department.
- Analyze sales performance regularly and provide guidance to teams on necessary actions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the Purchase Business Controlling Manager, Head of Design, Head of Sustainability & CSR, and other key stakeholders to drive department-wide alignment and efficiency.
- Serve as the one point of contact for consolidating timelines, deadlines, and campaigns, ensuring clear communication and coordination between buying, design and commercial teams.
- Execute tasks and projects as directed by the CPO, ensuring alignment with broader company strategies and objectives.
Your Past & Your Skills
- You have solid experience of 10+ years in senior purchasing or leadership roles within the fashion industry, with a strong track record of delivering results.
- You hold a degree in Textile Economics, Business, or a similar field relevant to the role
- You bring excellent analytical and negotiation skills, and you're confident balancing commercial thinking with strategic decision-making
- You are solution-oriented and forward-thinking, always seeking new ways to push performance and improve ways of working
- You have a deep understanding of the fashion retail landscape and are skilled at translating trends and customer insights into successful product strategies
- You’re an experienced and inspiring leader who can guide teams towards shared goals while encouraging growth and development
- You thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable navigating change and complexity
- You have hands-on experience working with suppliers and production partners, ensuring alignment from idea to final product
- You communicate fluently in both spoken and written English
